The Temple of Indomitable Poetry

To start off this new year, I would like to thank every one of you that has followed me over from Instagram and has subscribed to this blog! So much more content is coming that you'd have to be crazy to think otherwise.

Back in 2018 I had an idea to create a community of likeminded authors intent on helping each other succeed and helping the Earth survive the crises besieging it. Too many problems exist for one person alone to solve, but together we can make a huge difference that will go down in history. Come join me in creating something new and beautiful to help promote poetry and each other. No one will come and advertise us for us, so we must do it ourselves without fear of rejection or failure. I already have a small but loyal distribution network of willing people as far away as the UK, to Chicago, and even up to Pennsylvania. Starting small is key to refining a skill and making it run like a well-oiled machine.

I founded the Temple of Indomitable Poetry to combat what I saw as pretention masquerading as the preservation of an art form, and even more sinister intentions than that. Many people don't want us to succeed if it doesn't line their pockets, but that should not stop the good ones from continuing to try their damndest. There exists a plethora of poetry-related community pages on Instagram that promote people's poetry, but the problem with most of these is their inherent tendency to pick favorites and promote a select few over any other aspiring author. Favoritism in fact plays the biggest part in why poets can't get their books published traditionally without an arm, a leg, and a complete lack of support in the marketing department.

Nowadays it seems like if you aren't Rupi Kaur or a micro poet of some caliber, then succeeding at poetry is harder than winning the Indy 500 with a tractor. That is not how it should be, especially when I see certain poets working harder than their counterparts in rap music often do (especially when it comes to pure, raw lyricism). It is not fair and should not stand that poetry is seen as a poor man's art form when in fact half-assed writers get more than their fair share while the rest are left to soak in the wind.

For 2020, one of my main goals is to organize a Temple anthology featuring MY favorite poets and their work. Since everyone else plays favorites, then fuck it, I plan on doing so too. Beat them at their own game to be the best, my friends! I will personally hand select up to 10 poets to showcase their work and have the book given away freely while also offering a paperback option. I will organize, edit, and personally market this book in my own capacity as an author. Passion projects begin at home. I also plan on especially giving copies of the Temple's reading material to various children's hospitals, homeless shelters, and underfunded schools with a list of donations being made public.

My previous attempts at organizing poetry for charity failed miserably when I figured out that people were 10x more likely to buy a new hat they wanted instead of donating a single cent to charity of any kind. People are stubborn as fuck, and it does better to accommodate than to try to change habits - especially if we wish to profit from them! Keep your wits about you and keep posted for all the BEST projects coming straight out of the poetry world from yours truly! I plan to change the industry from the ground up, but I desperately need YOUR help to do so! Go! Spread the word that the Temple of Indomitable Poetry is up and running and set to take the world by storm! Naysayers can lick the dirtiest part of our boots for the shit they talk, but we shall never falter!

If you are ever going to drink the Kool-Aid, then at least make it a flavor all your own. I will set things into motion ASAP for the Temple's first anthology, so please stay posted. Stickers, merchandise, and more tournaments sponsored by more artists are coming. You seriously never know what the fuck I might do next.
